What’s the difference between Equinus Optimus and Equinus Optimus Complete?

The Complete product contains the same blend of ingredients found in the original Equinus Optimus along with North Atlantic Kelp. The kelp provides trace amounts of vitamins and minerals that are often deficient in feed today as the result of modern farming practices.

Why the big difference in price between the Original and Complete?

The feeding rates for the two products are significantly different. While the Complete is fed at 2oz. per day the Original is fed at 5 grams (1/8th ounce per day). Both products cost less than $.30/day to feed.

What is the guaranteed analysis?

Equinus Optimus is not a vitamin/mineral supplement so we do not provide a typical guaranteed analysis. What Equinus Optimus does is help your horse get more out of its existing feeding program through better digestion and absorption of nutrients.

Can I feed Equinus Optimus with my current supplement?

For liability purposes we do not make any recommendations on mixing Equinus Optimus with other supplements. Please consult with your veterinarian or qualified feed dealer regarding feed requirements. Most of our customers find they can reduce or eliminate expensive supplements by solely using Equinus Optimus with quality hay and grain.

My horse is a finicky eater. Will he eat it?

Equinus Optimus contains garlic extract and some horses will be a little hesitant to try it because of the garlic aroma. We’ve found that horses will actually crave the product after they become accustomed to it. Start with a small quantity mixed in grain and increase over several feedings until they are acclimated.

I don’t grain my horses during certain times of the year. Is there a way to continue feeding Equinus Optimus to give my horse the health benefits?

Yes! Equinus Optimus Complete can be fed free choice or as a daily dose without grain. It will help your horse utilize both hay and/or pasture.

Do you ship to Canada…Alaska…Hawaii?

Yes. We recommend the original Equinus Optimus for shipping to these places due to weight. Please email us for current shipping rates.

Do I still need to use a dewormer?

Yes. Consult your veterinarian for worming recommendations in your area.
